SCI GOLDEN GATE DOUBLES DONATION (ALMOST) AGAIN IN 2007, ST VINCENT'S

This was Golden Gate Chapter's 3rd annual Donation to the needy and pre hunting season freezer cleanout. We collected 1348# of processed, packaged game meat and delivered it on September 9, 2007. Members Ted Pryor, Don Seibel, Kim Stuart and Mike Borel were "drop off stations", before the load was consolidated in Ted Pryor's truck and delivered to St. Vincent's who were once again delighted to receive it. Donations included: Elk, Deer, Bison, Salmon, Halibut, Sheep, Moose, Duck and Pheasant. In the coolers this was max capacity for Ted's truck, but he has assured us that he has a trailer and will gladly use that if we can grow our donation again in 2008! We delivered 774# in 2006.

We continue to seek other Charities who serve meals to the needy to receive donations from us. Since we pretty well filled up St. Vincent's walk in freezer with this donation, we hope to find another location that we can additionally donate to in our membership area.

Thanks to the many members who donated this year. If you left your cooler for the delivery, we will have them at our next member meetings for pick up.

Note to all Members - we'll do a drive again in 2008 during early September or late August. Please plan to donate and join us in the delivery. It's a heartwarming experience!!
