1. How easy will it be to defeat by black market purchase and changing out the firing pin and bolt assembly? Answer: Very easy.
2. How will it affect the many small firearms dealers as the effective date approaches and their inventory becomes illegal to sell in CA? Answer: It will cost them dearly and could drive them out of business.
3. How will it affect used gun sales in the State? Answer: Used guns that don't microstamp will be illegal to resell.
4. How will it affect the possibility of transferring Semi-Auto Handguns down the line to family members? Answer: it will be illegal.
5. What will happen when the Bad Guys visit public ranges to pick up spent brass? Only to leave it at a crime scene! If this happens how much will it cost the innocent Law Abiding person to defend themselves when this occurs? Answer: Unknown, but a lot more than most of us would want to spend.
6. How many handgun manufactures will just no longer sell in this State? Answer: Many, perhaps most.
7. How long will a person have to wait if they need repairs to their Home Defense handgun if it needs a new firing pin (which do break and wear out) while a new one is made? Leaving them, in the mean time unarmed? Answer: Longer than they would have waited before, and perhaps MUCH longer.
8. What is to keep out of state or black market Semi Auto handguns out of criminal hands? Answer: Nothing.
9. Once again, this bill is nothing more than gun control focused on the law-abiding person.
Remember what sometimes starts in CA goes else where. Like MTBE gas additive, Air pollution rules, Vehicle Mileage rules, etc. etc. etc.
